Serie
KOI
2012-2014
Inspired by a visit to Portugal, summer 2012.
By chance, everywhere we stayed there was a pond with koi carp.
I sat for hours in silence fixing my gaze on the different layers I saw before me, observing movements, reflections, transparency, shadows, the light in each layer, in order to project the vision I saw in each one, so that the observer might feel free to dive into each one simply by changing their point of view.
In this series, I try to communicate with a few brushstrokes the hypnotic essence which leaves us feeling relaxed, watching the inhabitants of this underwater world.
Works made in Portugal and in the studio of Sevilla, years 2012 - 2014.
