When I arrived in Andalucía in January 2007, at a place near Seville called La Puebla del Río, I discovered the river Guadalquivir. Inspired by this beautiful place, I prepared an exhibition. In it, through photography and painting, I wanted to give my personal vision of this river, with its piers which have waded out into the water for 200 years, while the rising and falling of the tides shaped them into figures which appeared to me like people, yes, the inhabitants of the river, who whispered to me the story of this place.
